An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join a well-established industrial manufacturing and recycling operation based in Cardiff. This role is ideal for a proactive maintenance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment and is passionate about ensuring plant equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across site equipment and machinery.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical faults to minimise production downtime.
- Work with PLC-controlled systems, AC/DC drives, and process control equipment.
- Interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to enhance reliability and performance.
- Complete maintenance records and ensure compliance with site procedures.
- Work collaboratively with operational and maintenance teams to support production targets.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental standards.
About You
- Completed Electrical Apprenticeship.
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience within a manufacturing, heavy industry, recycling, steel, aggregates, or similar industrial environment.
- Knowledge of PLCs, electrical fault finding, motors, drives, and control systems.
- Strong understanding of health and safety practices.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- High Voltage (HV) experience would be advantageous but is not essential, as training can be provided.
