Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine sampling and analysis of boiler water, cooling water, condensate, and process water.
  • Monitor boiler and cooling water chemistry to ensure compliance with operational specifications and industry standards.
  • Analyse laboratory results, identify trends, and investigate abnormal findings.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records, test reports, and calibration documentation.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and analytical equipment.
  • Verify chemical dosing programmes and support adjustments where required.
  • Assist in troubleshooting chemistry-related process issues to minimise equipment corrosion, scaling, and fouling.
  • Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to support safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance.
  • Ensure all laboratory work complies with health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory and plant operations.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Chemist, Plant Chemist, Power Plant Chemist, Water Chemist, or in a similar laboratory-based role.
  • Practical laboratory experience performing analytical testing and interpreting results.
  • Knowledge of boiler water and cooling water chemistry.
  • Experience using laboratory equipment such as p H meters, conductivity meters, spectrophotometers, titration equipment, and dissolved oxygen analysers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and produce technical reports.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with operational teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
