About the Role:

We are looking for a dependable and safety-conscious Yard Operator to join a well-established chemical manufacturing business. This is a hands-on, active role that plays an essential part in ensuring smooth material movement, safe yard management, and support for production operations on site.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong work ethic and experience in yard or site operations, particularly within a chemical, industrial, or manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Yard Operations & Material Handling

*

Safely load and unload raw materials and finished goods using appropriate equipment

*

Handle movement of containers, drums, and IBCs across the site

*

Support production and logistics teams with timely delivery of materials to designated areas

*

Carry out visual checks and ensure correct labelling/storage of materials

Safety & Compliance

*

Follow all on-site HSE procedures and wear correct PPE at all times

*

Report any hazards, incidents, or near misses promptly

*

Maintain a clean and organised yard area, free from obstructions

*

Assist with inspections and ensure chemical storage complies with regulations

Teamwork & Support

*

Work closely with production, warehouse, and site management teams

*

Assist with basic plant operations and other tasks when required

*

Participate in toolbox talks and relevant training sessions

*

Ensure accurate record-keeping for yard movements and checks

What We’re Looking For:

Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, or plant-based role, preferably in chemical or manufacturing sectors
Valid FLT licence and confident operating a forklift in a busy industrial environment
Understanding of chemical handling and health & safety practices
A proactive team player with strong attention to detail
Good communication skills and a flexible approach to tasks
Experience with containers, tankers, or bulk liquid movements would be advantageous
