An experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer will lead the E&I scope for a multi-disciplinary EPC project, predominantly office-based in our South Manchester office.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality E&I design deliverables – MCC specifications, PLC control panel specifications, I/O schedules, installation specifications.
- Prepare detailed design packages – instrument and actuated valve specifications, block cable diagrams (BCDs), schedules, loop diagrams, and installation scopes.
- Carry out site surveys and support client meetings; liaise within the EPC project team.
- Identify design issues and develop practical, compliant solutions.
Requirements
- Strong E&I design experience compliant with BS 7671 and BS EN 60079 (Explosive Atmospheres).
- Working knowledge of functional safety and BS EN 61511 (advantageous).
- Experience working within a design office environment and knowledge of the design, application, and installation of instrumentation and LV electrical systems.
- Experience with PLC control systems (beneficial) and working knowledge of AutoCAD (beneficial).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; strong commercial awareness and problem-solving skills.
