With a consistent CAPEX over the past 4 years, with projects typically ranging from £100k - 3m. The portfolio includes reactor installations, LEV improvements, vessel and piping replacements and wider process plant upgrades.

This is a hands‑on Project Engineering role, offering strong autonomy and the opportunity to take ownership of technically challenging projects.

The Role

You will support the delivery of capital projects from concept and engineering through construction, commissioning and handover, working closely with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, SHE, Procurement and external contractors.

  • Delivering projects in line with agreed scope, budget, schedule and safety requirements.
  • Developing technically robust project scopes and supporting the company’s CAPEX and stage-gate processes.
  • Supporting the selection and management of contractors and vendors.
  • Coordinating engineering and technical resources across multiple disciplines.
  • Ensuring compliance with COMAH, Process Safety and relevant engineering standards.
  • Supporting PHA/HAZOP and other process safety activities.
  • Providing technical input into project reporting, cost control, milestones and risk management.
  • Identifying and resolving technical issues throughout project delivery.
  • Supporting construction, commissioning and handover, including technical documentation and training.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of project and engineering processes.

About You

Essential:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 4-5+ years' project engineering experience within a process manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience delivering projects through engineering, construction and commissioning.

Desirable:

  • Experience within chemical, petrochemical, refining or other process industries.
  • Experience working within ATEX / hazardous area environments.
  • Understanding of COMAH and Process Safety Management.
  • Experience with CAPEX projects and contractor management.

Please note: Candidates from other process industries, including pharmaceutical, food or similar regulated environments, may also be considered where they have relevant hazardous-area or process plant experience
