We are supporting a leading biopharmaceutical organisation based in Berkshire in the search for a QC Microbiology Technologist on a 12-month contract. This role will play a key part in supporting product quality through microbiological testing, environmental monitoring, and ensuring compliance with GMP standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform microbiological testing to support product qualifications, routine analysis, and environmental monitoring programmes
  • Accurately record and document all results in accordance with GMP and cGMP requirements
  • Review test data, identify any deviations or trends, and escalate concerns to QC Management where appropriate
  • Maintain high laboratory standards, including housekeeping, equipment maintenance, and inventory management
  • Support the qualification of media, reagents, and microbiological methods
  • Ensure all laboratory activities are conducted in line with relevant health and safety procedures
  • Maintain up-to-date GMP training and complete all required training within designated timeframes

Requirements

  • Degree (BSc or equivalent) in a Life Sciences discipline or relevant industry experience
  • Hands-on experience with microbiological techniques within a regulated environment
  • Strong understanding of Good Documentation Practice (GDP)
  • Ability to interpret data, identify anomalies, and communicate findings effectively
  • Experience with routine laboratory maintenance and stock/inventory control
  • Solid understanding of GMP and laboratory safety standards

Desirable

  • Experience working in a pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical QC environment
  • Familiarity with environmental monitoring programmes
