We are supporting a leading biopharmaceutical organisation based in Berkshire in the search for a QC Microbiology Technologist on a 12-month contract. This role will play a key part in supporting product quality through microbiological testing, environmental monitoring, and ensuring compliance with GMP standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform microbiological testing to support product qualifications, routine analysis, and environmental monitoring programmes
- Accurately record and document all results in accordance with GMP and cGMP requirements
- Review test data, identify any deviations or trends, and escalate concerns to QC Management where appropriate
- Maintain high laboratory standards, including housekeeping, equipment maintenance, and inventory management
- Support the qualification of media, reagents, and microbiological methods
- Ensure all laboratory activities are conducted in line with relevant health and safety procedures
- Maintain up-to-date GMP training and complete all required training within designated timeframes
Requirements
- Degree (BSc or equivalent) in a Life Sciences discipline or relevant industry experience
- Hands-on experience with microbiological techniques within a regulated environment
- Strong understanding of Good Documentation Practice (GDP)
- Ability to interpret data, identify anomalies, and communicate findings effectively
- Experience with routine laboratory maintenance and stock/inventory control
- Solid understanding of GMP and laboratory safety standards
Desirable
- Experience working in a pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical QC environment
- Familiarity with environmental monitoring programmes
