Hours: Full time (39 hours per week, Monday – Friday) Our client has more than 65 years of chemical manufacturing heritage and an established reputation for excellence through continuous improvement, dependability, social & environmental responsibility. The Engineering department has a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Shutdown Delivery Manager. Reporting to the Deputy Head of Engineering, the principal role of the Shutdown Delivery Manager is to interface with Operations to provide and execute a plan of works that ensures the site is safe to operate and is compliant with legislation in terms of process condition and operation. The successful candidate will be required to: * Develop a forward schedule and plans for all shutdowns on our clients site. The SDM will work with the Engineering Authority / Deputy Head of Engineering / Subject Matter Experts to ensure that Shutdowns and Maintenance is delivered and supports our clients capability. * The SDM will review, and ensure, that the tasks within engineering are effectively configured to maximise the support to the capability. Working with the Engineering Authority to ensure all works are compliant with UK requirements [policy / procedures / legislation] the SDM will manage the relationship with sub-contractors and will work with the Planning Supervisor with respect to our clients staff [Plant Engineers, EI&C, and Maintenance]. * Identify and manage stakeholders to establish and agree on the priority of shutdown work packages to maintain, and improve, onsite production capability. * To work with Commercial, Logistics and Operations teams to build the site shutdown programme. * Work alongside the Projects Manager to facilitate carrying out non-shutdown projects within a shutdown period to ensure safe and timely delivery. * Contribution to, and validation of, inputs into the CAPEX review process, ensuring that all inputs have a supporting rationale. * Verify and agree with the Maintenance Manager on the resources required to deliver work packages, highlighting any issues impacting on the delivery, with mitigations to rectify. * Quantify and schedule resources to ensure effective and efficient utilisation. * Arrange all support activities to support the Site Shutdown Programme. * Manage the delivery of work packages from line item through to planning, scheduling, permitting, execution and handover for commissioning. * Provide input to the Reporting Lead to enable the communications, and review, of the Shutdown team performance. * Effective management of a team of engineers and planners to achieve the outcomes described above. Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience required Essential: * HND/HNC qualification, or equivalent, in an Engineering discipline. * Considerable management experience (minimum 5 years). * Trained and experienced in CDM Regulations 2015 * Experience with planning, scheduling and executing high complexity, time critical projects. * Exceptional communicator with the ability to encourage, motivate, and influence people at all levels in their application of systems and procedures. * Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities logically. * Pragmatic decision maker: able to identify potential problems/ difficulties and propose appropriate solutions. * Continuous improvement mind-set / outlook.
