Senior Quantity Surveyor Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team and play a pivotal role in the commercial management of engineering and infrastructure projects. This position offers the opportunity to work across a variety of sectors, including water, power & energy, pharmaceutical, nuclear, and food & beverage industries. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for ensuring robust financial and commercial practices, managing suppliers and subcontractors, and driving continuous performance improvements. This role requires strong commercial acumen, excellent stakeholder management, and the ability to provide valuable insights to support both project delivery and tender compliance. Key Responsibilities * Commercial & Financial Management * Ensure timely cash collection and accurate valuation of work completed. * Prepare, review, and support weekly and monthly cost value reconciliations (CVRs). * Monitor and manage outstanding cash to meet business targets. * Lead the management of Early Warning and Compensation Events. * Contract & Supplier Management * Negotiate and manage subcontractor and supplier agreements to achieve best value. * Ensure compliance with standard forms of contract and industry methods of measurement. * Monitor contract performance against KPIs, implementing improvements where necessary. * Client Engagement & Collaboration * Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with clients and stakeholders. * Provide productivity insights and commercial advice to support tender submissions. * Negotiate positively with clients around unit rates, KPIs, and contractual matters. * Performance & Project Support * Support the delivery team with programming techniques and project controls. * Identify risks and opportunities to improve financial and operational outcomes. * Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and value-driven project delivery. Skills & Experience * Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or equivalent experience. * Proven track record of success in construction or engineering-related commercial roles. * Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract (NEC, JCT, or equivalent). * Solid understanding of methods of measurement and project controls. * Strong commercial awareness with the ability to influence key financial decisions. * Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). * Highly professional with strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills. * Collaborative mindset with the ability to build trust and foster long-term partnerships
