If you are an Electrical Engineer with exposure across HV infrastructure with the ability to lead critical electrical infrastructure in one of the UK's Most Unique Industrial Environments, then this role will not disappoint. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join a major industrial manufacturing operation based in the Western Scottish Highlands. This role offers the chance to take technical ownership of a large-scale electrical infrastructure while leading reliability improvements, capital projects and electrical safety initiatives across a complex, high-energy manufacturing site.

The Role

As Senior Electrical Engineer, you will act as the site's technical authority for electrical systems, supporting the safe, reliable and efficient operation of critical manufacturing assets. You will work closely with operations, maintenance, engineering and project teams to improve asset reliability, drive continuous improvement initiatives and deliver electrical capital projects from concept through to commissioning.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical leadership for site-wide electrical infrastructure, including substations, transformers, switchgear, motors, drives, UPS and control systems.
  • Lead electrical fault finding, troubleshooting and technical problem-solving activities.
  • Maintain electrical standards, procedures and engineering documentation.
  • Mentor engineers, technicians and contractors across the site.
  • Drive reliability improvement initiatives for critical electrical assets, maintenance procedures and Management of Change.
  • Manage electrically biased CAPEX and improvement projects from concept through to commissioning.
  • Promote a strong electrical safety culture across the site, support audits and HAZOP studies.
  • Assist with Control Systems onsite from an operations and projects perspective.

What We're Looking For:

Essential

  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Significant experience within heavy industrial, manufacturing or process environments.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical distribution systems.
  • Experience with substations, transformers, switchgear, protection relays, motors and VSDs.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety, isolation, switching and permit-to-work systems.
  • Experience delivering electrical projects and commissioning activities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of PLC, HMI and SCADA systems.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, CMMS systems and contractor management.

  • Salary £65,000–£70,000 DOE.
  • Relocation package up to £8,000, plus three months' rent paid.
