We’re Hiring: Inventor CAD Design Engineer (SC Cleared) | Reading | UK Defence Sector --- 6 to 12 month contract
I’m currently supporting our client in the search for a talented PP&E CAD Design Engineer to join their embedded team delivering critical engineering support to a major UK defence programme. This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the heart of complex manufacturing and operational environments, contributing to the design and delivery of plant, property, and equipment solutions.
What you’ll be doing:
- Designing equipment and providing CAD support using Autodesk Inventor
- Supporting manufacturing, production, and facilities teams with practical engineering solutions
- Producing high-quality technical drawings, specifications, and documentation
- Managing models and data within Autodesk Vault
- Collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to deliver project outcomes
What we’re looking for:
- Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
- Strong experience with Autodesk Inventor
- Background in manufacturing, production support, or industrial environments
- Knowledge of mechanical systems (piping/pressure systems a plus)
- Existing SC Clearance (essential)
Due to the nature of the work, candidates must hold active SC clearance (or be eligible for transfer). This role offers the chance to work on highly impactful programmes within a structured, collaborative engineering environment.
