Our client is looking to recruit an experienced EC&I Technician to join their busy engineering team at their COMAH facility based in Cumbria. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and safety-focused business offering long-term stability, training and career development within a highly regulated manufacturing environment.

The role will involve undertaking preventative and reactive maintenance activities across a wide range of electrical, controls and instrumentation systems to support site safety, reliability and production performance.

Responsibilities

As an EC&I Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out maintenance, fault finding and engineering activities across the plant. Previous experience within COMAH is preferred; however, candidates from other heavy industrial or highly regulated environments will also be considered. Therefore, to be successful you should have experience with:

  • 415V 3-phase electrical systems
  • PLC/DCS systems
  • Hardwired control systems
  • Digital and analogue instrumentation
  • Electrical fault finding and maintenance
  • Preventative and reactive maintenance
  • Permit to Work systems
  • Electrical isolations
  • Risk assessments and safe systems of work
  • CMMS systems
Desired Experience
  • COMAH / Chemical Manufacturing
  • ATEX / DSEAR hazardous areas
  • Oil & Gas
  • Power Generation
  • Pharmaceutical or other regulated manufacturing industries
Qualifications & Experience
  • Time-served apprenticeship or NVQ Level 2 equivalent within Electrical, Controls or Instrumentation
  • COMPEX 1-4 preferred, however training can be provided within 6 months
  • Strong fault-finding and maintenance background within an industrial environment
