Our client has a chemical manufacturing plant in the Lancashire area, and they are currently recruiting for 2 Maintenance Fitters. The roles will report to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor. The primary purpose of the role is to ensure all work is carried out to agreed safety standards.
Primary Role
- Work will be carried out in industrial ATEX areas.
- Provide timely support to production to keep machinery running.
- The candidate will be tasked with carrying out ongoing and reactive work to ensure continuous asset reliability.
Main Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled and preventative maintenance checks and procedures.
- Report and record any adverse symptoms or trends.
- Undertake allocated maintenance activities.
- Respond to and assist with breakdowns.
- Conduct diagnostic checks on plant and faulty equipment and repair as necessary.
- Be able to work from drawings, sketches and verbal instructions.
- Maintain all plant and equipment maintenance records in a timely manner.
- Be able to use all tools and equipment safely and correctly as required to complete the maintenance tasks.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders on all aspects of departmental activities.
- Ensure the secure, safe storage of all equipment at all times.
Experience
- Required Years of Professional Experience: 5 - 10 years
- Experience of working in a maintenance department, and of diagnosing and solving problems.
