Mechanical Design Engineer (Considering Recent Graduates) – Staff – Salary + Benefits – Norfolk Our client is a leading design, build & installation company and they are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer on a staff basis. You will be based at their facility in Norfolk. Necessary training and development will be provided. Duties: * Design and develop mechanical systems using SolidWorks and DraftSight. * Oversee the entire lifecycle of the machine design process, from planning and design to testing and implementation. * Support fellow design colleagues with their CAD drawings/3D work. * Support the company’s technical developments. * Produce assembly instructions and assist Engineers on construction. * Work on supporting technical documentation e.g. drawings, specifications & BOM’s. * Work with colleagues to help develop innovative and creative concept designs. * Produce virtual walkthroughs and simulations from CAD drawings. * Troubleshoot problems and devise solutions to resolve them. Experience & Qualifications: * Relevant background in Engineering and 3D CAD Design. * Experience in mechanical design using 3D CAD software (ideally SolidWorks, if not similar packages would also be considered) & 2D CAD Software (AutoCAD, DraftSight etc.) * Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering standards. * An understanding of modern automated systems. * Competent in Microsoft Office Desired skills. * Ability to perform and understand engineering calculations and simulations. * Familiarity with electrical design, wiring diagrams (not essential)
