We’re supporting a leading chemical business to appoint a Health & Safety Manager. The role will initially focus on their site in North Yorkshire, bringing it up to speed and in line with "best in class standards". Longer term there’s an opportunity to expand into a group, corporate-level role as the business grows or into site management. This is a great chance to put your own stamp on safety, drive cultural change, and play a key role in improving a site as it transitions from Lower Tier to Upper Tier COMAH.

The Role

  • Drive a strong safety culture
  • Ensure compliance with COMAH and UK legislation
  • Manage major hazard risks (HAZOP, ALARP)
  • Lead audits, inspections & regulatory engagement
  • Oversee incident investigations & improvements

About You

  • HSE or Process Safety experience in chemicals/high-hazard environments
  • Strong understanding of COMAH/process safety
  • Confident, proactive, and able to influence
  • NEBOSH qualified (Diploma desirable), or degree in Chemical Engineering
