As the Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient operation of all activities in the laboratory including health & safety and quality. Responsibilities include:

  • Perform routine and non-routine quality control analysis and interpretation using an array of equipment (GC, GCMS, XRF, IC, Bomb calorimetry, Titrations, Karl Fisher, Hydrometers and more).
  • Sign off and dispatch materials to customers, ensuring required specification is met.
  • Authorise the receipt of loads onto site.
  • Perform data entry and filing of reports to ensure that accurate analytical data is presented in the correct format and in a timely fashion to all relevant parties.
  • Carry out safety critical tasks / analysis required as per procedure dictates.
  • Maintain good housekeeping & cleaning standards within the laboratory.
  • To aid wastewater management.
  • Liaise and communicate results effectively and efficiently to other departments.
  • Perform calibrations and QC checks of lab equipment.
  • Ensure that non-conforming materials are communicated effectively.
  • Undertake project work to improve laboratory and plant processes.
  • Promote a high standard of health and safety within the laboratory.
  • Reporting of near miss accidents and incidents.
  • Make relevant continuous improvement suggestions to supervisors / management and monitor equipment performance.
