We're recruiting an Environmental Specialist for a major industrial manufacturer in Fort William. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a good understanding of environmental compliance and regulation who wants to further develop their expertise within a highly regulated environment. You’ll join an experienced HSEQ team and gain exposure to environmental permitting, compliance, ISO 14001, environmental monitoring, audits, investigations, sustainability initiatives and regulator engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support environmental compliance and permitting activities.
  • Monitor environmental performance and analyse data.
  • Prepare reports for regulators and internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct environmental audits, inspections and investigations.
  • Support ISO 14001 and environmental management system activities.
  • Assist with sustainability and environmental improvement projects.
  • Provide practical environmental advice across site operations.

About You

  • Degree, HND or equivalent experience in an environmental or related discipline.
  • Experience within an environmental, sustainability, compliance or regulated operational role.
  • Understanding of environmental legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication, analytical and organisational skills.
  • Motivated to develop technical environmental expertise.

Desirable

  • Experience with ISO 14001.
  • Exposure to environmental monitoring, auditing or reporting.
  • Experience within a regulated industrial environment.
  • Working towards or interested in IEMA membership.
