We're supporting a well-established industrial manufacturing business in the search for an experienced SHEQ Manager to lead Safety, Health, Environment and Quality across a complex, high-hazard manufacturing operation.

Reporting into the Global Head of SHEQ, you'll play a key leadership role in driving continuous improvement, maintaining regulatory compliance and developing a positive SHEQ culture across the site.

The Role
You'll be responsible for leading the site's SHEQ function, ensuring compliance with UK legislation, COMAH regulations and internationally recognised management systems, while supporting operational teams in delivering safe and efficient manufacturing.
Key responsibilities include
- Leading the site's Safety, Health, Environment and Quality function.
- Developing and implementing SHEQ strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Ensuring ongoing compliance with Top Tier COMAH regulations.
- Managing relationships with the HSE, Environment Agency and other regulatory bodies.
- Maintaining the site's Safety Report and supporting regulatory inspections.
- Leading Process Safety initiatives including HAZOP, Management of Change and Permit to Work systems.
- Driving improvements in health and safety performance through audits, investigations and behavioural safety initiatives.
- Managing environmental compliance, permits and sustainability programmes.
- Maintaining and continually improving ISO management systems including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001.
- Leading a small team of SHEQ professionals while partnering closely with site leadership and operational teams.
- Producing SHEQ performance reports and driving continuous improvement across the business.
About You
We're looking for an experienced SHEQ professional who is comfortable operating within a complex, regulated manufacturing environment.
You'll ideally have
- Significant experience within a Top Tier COMAH manufacturing site.
- Strong knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislation.
- Experience managing COMAH compliance and regulatory inspections.
- A strong understanding of Process Safety Management principles.
- Experience with HAZOP, Management of Change, Permit to Work and risk assessment processes.
- Previous responsibility for ISO management systems and external audits.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- A degree in Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science or a related discipline would be advantageous.
