Looking to develop your environmental career? We're recruiting an Environmental Specialist for a major industrial manufacturer in Fort William. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a good understanding of environmental compliance and regulation who wants to further develop their expertise within a highly regulated environment.

You'll join an experienced HSEQ team and gain exposure to environmental permitting, compliance, ISO 14001, environmental monitoring, audits, investigations, sustainability initiatives and regulator engagement. Industry background is flexible. We're interested in candidates from manufacturing, utilities, energy, waste, environmental consultancy, infrastructure and other regulated sectors who are keen to build a long-term career in environmental management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support environmental compliance and permitting activities.
  • Monitor environmental performance and analyse data.
  • Prepare reports for regulators and internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct environmental audits, inspections and investigations.
  • Support ISO 14001 and environmental management system activities.
  • Assist with sustainability and environmental improvement projects.
  • Provide practical environmental advice across site operations.
About You
  • Degree, HND or equivalent experience in an environmental or related discipline.
  • Experience within an environmental, sustainability, compliance or regulated operational role.
  • Understanding of environmental legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication, analytical and organisational skills.
  • Motivated to develop technical environmental expertise.
Desirable
  • Experience with ISO 14001.
  • Exposure to environmental monitoring, auditing or reporting.
  • Experience within a regulated industrial environment.
  • Working towards or interested in IEMA membership.
