About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Forklift Truck (FLT) Driver to join our team on a temporary basis at our chemical manufacturing site in Northwich. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting site operations, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials, packaging, and finished products within a busy production and warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate FLT equipment safely and efficiently, in line with company procedures and health & safety regulations.
  • Load and unload raw materials, chemical products, and packaging from vehicles and production lines.
  • Move goods between storage areas, production zones, and dispatch areas.
  • Ensure correct labelling, handling, and segregation of chemical materials to prevent contamination.
  • Conduct routine vehicle checks and report any defects or maintenance needs.
  • Assist with stock control, including pallet counts and data entry.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to site safety and hygiene standards.
  • Support the wider operations team as required during peak production periods.

Requirements

  • Valid FLT Licence – Counterbalance and/or Reach Truck essential.
  • VNA (Very Narrow Aisle) Licence – highly desirable.
  • Proven experience operating FLT equipment within a manufacturing, warehouse, or chemical industry environment.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety and COSHH principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe working practices.
  • Flexible approach to working hours and tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable

  • Previous experience working in a chemical or hazardous materials environment.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar inventory software.
