Electrical Engineer (Production / Manufacturing) - West Midlands - £Competitive + Benefits
Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their growing engineering team based in West Midlands.
Working for a well-established manufacturer of electrical control panels, you'll play a key role in supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), improving manufacturing processes, and ensuring products are delivered to the highest quality, on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Support the manufacturing process from design through to production, ensuring accurate engineering documentation is produced while providing technical support across the business.
- Electrical panel design and production engineering
- Design for Manufacture (DFM)
- Producing and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Engineering Change Notices (ECNs)
- Electrical design from concept through to production
- Electrical CAD software
- UL508A, EN60204, LVD and EMC standards
- Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, 5S and Kaizen
- Root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Supporting manufacturing and production teams
- Project engineering and production planning
Qualifications
- HNC/HND, NVQ Level 4 or Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years' experience within a production engineering or electrical manufacturing environment
- Experience working with electrical control panels or switchgear manufacturing
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering documentation
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- A proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset
- Experience mentoring apprentices or junior engineers would be advantageous
