E&I Technician / Chemicals / Manchester / £42,638 rising to £48,240 + benefits We are looking for a skilled and motivated Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician to join an Integrated Operations team at an Upper Tier COMAH chemical manufacturing site. This is a key role supporting the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of high-hazard process plant equipment. You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving electrical, control, and instrumentation systems, playing a vital part in keeping the site running efficiently and safely. Working within a small, close-knit engineering team, you’ll contribute to both day-to-day maintenance and longer-term improvement projects. Key Responsibilities As an E&I Technician, your responsibilities will include: * Carrying out planned preventative and breakdown maintenance on electrical, instrumentation, and control systems within a chemical manufacturing environment * Diagnosing faults and carrying out corrective repairs to minimise downtime * Working in full compliance with site health, safety, and environmental standards, including the Permit to Work system * Using the company ERP system to order materials and services * Managing work orders, preventive maintenance activities, and time recording through the Engineering Management System * Supporting wider engineering activities across the site as required * Deputising for the E&I Coordinator during periods of absence Qualifications & Certifications Essential: * NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation or a related discipline * City & Guilds qualification in BS 7671:2022 (18th Edition) * Trained in installation and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation equipment in hazardous areas (ATEX) Desirable: * CompEx Ex01–Ex06 Benefits: * £42,638 rising to £48,240 with a guaranteed bonus * Pension – 7% (er) / 12.1% (ee) * 26 holidays per annum in addition to 8 statutory holidays. * Death in Service Insurance * Income Protection Insurance * Employee Assistance Program If you’re an E&I Technician looking for a role where your expertise genuinely matters and where safety, teamwork, and technical excellence are valued, we’d love to hear from you
