A leading infrastructure and engineering delivery partner is looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Lead / Senior Quantity Surveyor to support a major programme of works within the UK water industry. This position would suit an individual operating at Senior QS level who is ready to step into a broader commercial leadership role, or an experienced Commercial Manager seeking a hands-on delivery-focused position.

The Role

  • Working within an established project and commercial team, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of water infrastructure projects delivered under long-term framework agreements.
  • You will play a key role in:
    • Managing project commercial performance from pre-construction through delivery
    • Overseeing subcontractor procurement and account management
    • Managing applications, valuations, variations, and final accounts
    • Supporting commercial reporting, forecasting, and cost control
    • Providing commercial support to operational teams and senior stakeholders
    • Identifying and mitigating commercial risk
    • Supporting contractual matters under NEC forms of contract

Requirements

  • Strong commercial experience within the water sector is essential
  • Background as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager within utilities, civils, or infrastructure
  • Good understanding of NEC contracts and framework environments
  • Ability to manage projects autonomously while working remotely
  • Strong stakeholder communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience supporting operational delivery teams in a fast-paced environment
