Our client is a leading force in biofuels and renewable energy across the UK. At present, they are seeking a Chemist on a permanent basis at their site in Moray, Scotland. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or junior chemist to support testing, research and development within a cross-functional team. This role will require someone to be self-starter and proactive with the ability to work alone and within a matrix team across multiple sites.
Laboratory and Sampling Duties:
– Analysis of samples according to a schedule and as directed by the Laboratory Manager
– Perform Biomethane Potential (BMP) and Residual Biomethane Potential (RPB) tests on anaerobic digestion (AD) substrates and feedstocks
– Sampling of the Long Sea Outfall, analyse and report results.
– Conduct fibre sampling, including packaging and posting to accredited laboratory to ensure continued PAS 110 Accreditation.
– Provide technical support to operations as required.
– Support will be given to colleagues in implementing trials and collecting and reporting plant data and working with operations to ensure the smooth running of trials, process modifications, process changes and upgrades
Experience & Key attributes:
Educated to at least HND/HNC level (or equivalent) preferably degree qualified in chemistry.
Proficiency in the use of Excel and MS Office.
Experience working in a laboratory setting.
Strong knowledge of basic laboratory techniques and procedures.
Ability to operate laboratory equipment and instruments.
Good organisational and time management skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to communicate with a wide range of people.
Team player
Must hold a full, clean driving licence with access to own transport.

Analytical Skills: Ability to follow procedures and perform tasks accurately.
