We are looking for a skilled and motivated Controls & Instrumentation (C&I) Technician to join an Upper Tier COMAH site. This is a key role supporting the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of high-hazard process plant equipment. You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving control and instrumentation systems, playing a vital part in keeping the site running efficiently and safely. Working within a small, close-knit engineering team, you'll contribute to both day-to-day maintenance and longer-term improvement projects (Installations).
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out planned preventative and breakdown maintenance on instrumentation and control systems within a chemical manufacturing environment
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out corrective repairs to minimise downtime
- Working in full compliance with site health, safety, and environmental standards, including the Permit to Work system
- Managing work orders, preventive maintenance activities, and time recording through the Engineering Management System
- Supporting wider engineering activities across the site as required
- Fault-finding on PLCs, DCS
- Maintenance across field instrumentation (level, temp, flow, pressure)
- Instrument calibrations (Analyser exposure - desirable)
Qualifications & Certifications
Essential: NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation or a related discipline
Desirable: CompEx Ex01-Ex06
