About the Role
We are seeking reliable and safety-focused Production Operators to join our chemical manufacturing facility in Alfreton. Opportunities are available in both Processing and Filling/Packaging areas. These are permanent, full-time roles working a rotating weekly shift pattern covering early, late, and night shifts, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing Operators
- Operate and monitor chemical processing equipment in line with SOPs and batch sheets
- Charge raw materials and oversee mixing, reactions, and transfers
- Record production data accurately and complete batch documentation
- Carry out routine quality checks and sampling
- Identify and report process deviations or equipment issues
- Maintain high housekeeping standards and follow site safety procedures
- Operate filling, labelling, and packaging machinery safely and efficiently
- Ensure correct product, batch, and packaging materials are used
- Perform in-process quality checks including weights, seals, and labels
- Palletise finished goods and prepare for dispatch
- Complete production records and shift paperwork
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the filling area
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures, including PPE requirements
- Work to production schedules and meet output targets
- Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, maintenance, and quality teams
- Participate in training and development activities
Requirements
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment (chemical, pharmaceutical, food, or similar preferred)
- Strong awareness of health and safety practices
- Ability to follow written procedures and complete documentation accurately
- Good attention to detail and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work rotating early, late, and night shifts
- Forklift licence beneficial (training may be provided)
