We’re seeking a Health & Safety Co-ordinator/Administrator for an initial 6-month contract with the view of going permanent staff, for a chemicals manufacturing client. This is a hands-on, site-based role focused on carrying out practical risk assessments and COSHH assessments across day-to-day operations. This position will suit someone who enjoys being on the ground, engaging with people daily, understanding how work is actually carried out, and translating that into suitable and sufficient safety assessments. You’ll play a key role in supporting compliance, improving safety standards, and ensuring practical risk controls are in place.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and review risk assessments across operational activities
- Complete COSHH assessments for chemicals and hazardous substances
- Spend time on site daily, speaking with employees and understanding tasks firsthand
- Build strong relationships with operational teams to drive engagement in safety
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous Health & Safety experience within chemicals, manufacturing, industrial, construction, or other high-risk environments
- Practical experience with risk assessments and COSHH
- Strong understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation
- Confident communicator with a collaborative, people-first approach
- NEBOSH Certificate preferred, IOSH Managing Safely acceptable
