We are currently looking for an experienced C++ Contractor to join a fast-paced engineering team on an initial 6-month remote contract. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-performance, real-time software systems using modern C++ technologies within an agile environment. The role would suit someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, building scalable applications, and contributing from day one.
The Role
- Designing, developing, and optimizing high-performance C++ applications
- Working on real-time, multithreaded software systems
- Collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams
- Participating in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, testing, and code reviews
- Troubleshooting complex technical and performance-related issues
- Supporting application performance tuning and infrastructure optimisation
Skills & Experience Required
- 5+ years commercial experience developing multithreaded C++ software systems on Linux
- Strong experience building real-time C++ applications
- Experience working within fast-paced Agile development teams
- Strong knowledge of modern C++ standards, particularly C++17
- Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) or Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD)
- Experience with profiling, memory leak detection, and code analysis tools
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
