Want to work on real AI products rather than just talk about AI? We're working with a growing, technology-led business that's investing heavily in building new software products and bringing AI into the heart of how things work. They're looking for a talented Software Engineer to join a small, ambitious team where you'll have the opportunity to work on modern applications, experiment with emerging AI technologies and help turn ideas into working products. This isn't a role where you'll spend your days maintaining legacy systems or making minor changes to someone else's code. You'll be building things, solving problems and getting involved in projects from the initial idea through to delivery.

What you'll be doing:

  • Developing and improving modern software applications
  • Working with AI tools and technologies to build new features and capabilities
  • Getting involved in both front-end and back-end development
  • Experimenting with new approaches and turning ideas into practical solutions
  • Troubleshooting, debugging and improving existing functionality
  • Working closely with experienced technical colleagues and contributing your own ideas
  • Taking ownership of your work and seeing the results in production

What we're looking for:

You don't need to be an AI expert. We're much more interested in finding someone who enjoys building software, is naturally curious about technology and wants to develop their skills in an environment where they'll get genuine responsibility. Ideally, you'll bring:

  • Some commercial software development experience, ideally 1-3 years
  • Experience with Python, JavaScript, TypeScript or similar technologies
  • An understanding of modern software development practices
  • An interest in AI, LLMs, automation or emerging technologies
  • Good problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to ask questions, contribute ideas and take ownership

If you've been experimenting with AI projects, building applications in your own time or finding interesting ways to use new technologies, we'd love to hear about it.

Why consider it?

  • £30,000 - £40,000+ salary, with flexibility for the right person
  • Hybrid working just 2 days per week in Belfast
  • Competitive annual leave
  • Private medical insurance
  • Bonus and pension
  • Opportunity to work with emerging AI technologies
  • Genuine influence over what gets built and how
  • A supportive environment where you'll be encouraged to develop, experiment and take responsibility

This is a particularly interesting opportunity for an early-career engineer who wants to move beyond simply writing code and start building products with real impact. Interested? Get in touch for a confidential conversation. We're happy to share more about the business, the team and what they're building.
