Our client is looking for a Data Scientist with strong experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP), Large Language Models (LLMs) and Machine Learning to build-out their Data Science Platform. They have a strong, diverse team in Belfast. The Data Scientist will play a key role in helping them achieve strategic goals. This is an opportunity to join a greenfield environment where you'll design and deploy production-grade machine learning models, generative AI solutions and intelligent business applications that enhance customer experience, improve operational efficiency and deliver measurable business value.

Working across Data Science, AI Engineering and MLOps, you'll develop scalable AI solutions, collaborate with business stakeholders and play a key role in shaping their AI strategy.

Data Scientist Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop and deploy machine learning models and AI solutions to solve complex business challenges.
  • Build production-ready AI applications including intelligent assistants, chatbots, copilots and workflow automation tools.
  • Develop and optimise NLP, Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions.
  • Build scalable data pipelines and collaborate with engineering teams to prepare data for AI and machine learning initiatives.
  • Deploy, monitor and maintain models using modern MLOps practices, ensuring reliability, scalability and continuous improvement.
  • Integrate AI services with enterprise applications through APIs and cloud-native architectures.
  • Partner with technical and business stakeholders to identify opportunities where AI can improve customer outcomes and business performance.
  • Lead proof-of-concept initiatives, evaluate emerging AI technologies and promote innovation across the organisation.
Experience:
  • 3 years' commercial experience in Data Science, Machine Learning or AI Engineering (with demonstrated expertise across entire ML lifecycle) e.g. preprocessing to production deployment and monitoring.
  • Proven experience developing and deploying machine learning models into production.
  • Experience delivering Generative AI applications, LLM-based solutions or intelligent automation platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, MLOps and modern software development practices.
  • Experience in highly-regulated environment (Fintech/Insurtech/Prof Services) is advantageous but not essential.
