Adept Resourcing are recruiting for a Melter / Furnace Operator on behalf of one of our manufacturing clients. This is a hands-on shop floor role working in a specialist furnace department within a heavy manufacturing environment. If you're used to working around heat, heavy materials and strict safety procedures, this could be right up your street.
What you'll be doing:
- Operating and supporting furnace melting processes
- Preparing furnace charges and loading materials
- Handling moulds, ingots, electrodes and crucibles
- Using overhead cranes and forklift trucks
- Supporting mould preparation and furnace cleaning
- Maintaining strict safety, housekeeping and QA standards
- Completing melt records and production documentation
What we're looking for:
This is a shop floor role, so we're looking for someone comfortable in a safety critical manufacturing environment. Good backgrounds include:
- Steel / metals manufacturing
- Foundry or casting environments
- Heavy engineering
- Aerospace materials production
- Furnace operations
- Any industrial environment where safety and process discipline matter
