Shillito Group is recruiting an experienced CNC Set/Operator for an established precision engineering business in Sheffield.

We're looking for someone who knows their way around a machine shop and can confidently take responsibility for setting, machining and checking their own work.

What you'll be doing

• Setting and operating CNC machinery, predominantley VMC Machines
• Working accurately from engineering drawings
• Making programme edits and adjustments where required
• Selecting tooling and setting offsets
• Producing and inspecting first-off components
• Machining components to tight tolerances
• Carrying out dimensional and quality checks throughout production
• Keeping machines running efficiently and maintaining good shop-floor standards

What we need

This isn't purely an operator role.

You'll need proven CNC setting experience and be comfortable taking a job from drawing through to a correctly machined component.

We're looking for someone who can:

• Read and understand engineering drawings
• Work confidently to tight tolerances
• Make programme adjustments
• Set tooling and offsets
• Carry out first-off and in-process inspection
• Take responsibility for the quality of their own work
