Job Responsibilities:
- Review customer specific requirements including project specifications to identify and understand the key deliverables and offer a suitable solution.
- Responsible for compiling technical tenders, financial costing and compliance to global standards and EU regulations.
- Take charge of aspects of technical project management following receipt of order in a cross functional role to deliver projects from cradle to grave through the business from initial enquiry through to site commissioning.
- Ad hoc engineering support and department organisational tasks.
Principal Accountabilities:
- To be collaborative within a high-performance environment.
- Process enquiries to develop the technical solution and bid/quotation and provide exceptional customer service.
- Provide correct technical support to the international sales and administration teams and aftermarket customers to resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
- To liaise with design, procurement and manufacturing functions to achieve successful order execution, meeting customer quality and delivery requirements.
- Reacting to breakdown situations providing troubleshooting support and failure analysis as required to ensure the problem is resolved as quickly as possible.
- Assist with setting pricing models and strategy to win key orders.
- Attend project kick off, quality inspection, manufacturing progressing and expediting meetings as required.
- Ensure that all solutions provided to customers meet the required specifications.
- Co-ordinating multi-skilled teams to ensure optimum efficiency and use of labour.
- Support training needs of team as required.
- Ensure procedures are maintained, upgraded and adhered to.
- Daily liaison with internal and external customers (including end users, sales engineers, and distributors from the UK and overseas).
- Daily liaison with workshops and inspection departments on engineering issues for both standard and special seals; solving problems and agreeing concessions.
- Where applicable, participate in appraisals of junior colleagues in conjunction with the Engineering manager.
- Guide and mentor junior colleagues.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Exceptional communication skills both written and oral.
- Engineering Leadership skills, ability to guide and direct others.
- 3D CAD literate.
- IT literate.
- Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
- Ability to problem solve efficiently and effectively.
- Ability to interact and deal with customers on a daily basis.
Qualifications:
- HNC/HND (or equivalent) in relevant Mechanical/Chemical/Process related Engineering discipline.
