Shillito Group are recruiting for an Engineering Manager for a major manufacturing client in Rotherham. This role leads the Cold End Engineering function - the part of the process where product is inspected, handled, conveyed and prepared for dispatch.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Leading, coaching and developing a team of engineering technicians
- Owning Health & Safety, driving standards daily
- Managing breakdowns and keeping production moving
- Planning work through CMMS and ensuring completion
- Managing budgets, labour and resource
- Delivering toolbox talks and developing capability
- Providing technical support to engineers across shifts
- Managing contractors, permits and risk assessments
- Driving improvements, projects and PPM optimisation
- Stepping in for senior leadership when required
Ideal Background:
- Strong manufacturing / FMCG maintenance background
- Apprentice trained electrical engineer
- HNC/HND or equivalent
- Proven experience leading engineering teams
- Comfortable owning performance, budget and delivery
- A problem-solver who takes action
Desirable:
- Experience with inspection equipment, conveyors, palletisation or automation
- Lean / SMED experience
- ILM Level 5 or similar
