Adept Resourcing are supporting a precision manufacturer with the recruitment of a Multiskilled Maintenance Fitter. The Maintenance Fitter performs machine maintenance and basic facility repairs according to safety regulations and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives. This is based on a 3 shift (17% premium) pattern working 37.5 hours per week.
Role
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment as required.
- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain the site's equipment.
- Perform work including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, across a range of production machines.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all machines, equipment, and plant facility.
- Carry out installation tasks including electrical, water and air supplies.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Comply with all relevant health and safety rules and regulations.
- Seek solutions to problems and improvements to reduce breakdowns.
You
- Given that roles within maintenance necessitate working in a variety of environments, you must be able to demonstrate a robust understanding of the Health and Safety perimeters across the site and mindfulness of how safety requirements vary by department.
- Able to hit the ground running and get stuck in.
- Comfortable working in a forging environment and equipment.
- Experience from within a maintenance background, ideally with a variety of equipment.
- Demonstrate practical experience (at interview they may for example be asked to explain what a drawing is showing or how they would approach a task).
Education and experience
- Apprenticeship (preferred).
- Fabrication experience is preferable.
- Proven hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic industrial experience (Required).
- Recognised Electrical training/experience.
- Fault finding across a variety of control systems.
- Reading and interpreting drawings.
