Shillito Group are recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter's Mate to join an established business offering full training and long term development opportunities.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to get into mechanical engineering, whether you've recently completed an engineering qualification or have some hands-on experience and want to develop your skills.
You don't need years of experience. We're looking for someone practical, reliable and keen to learn.
The Role
- Assist experienced fitters with the installation, assembly and dismantling of mechanical equipment.
- Work with ventilation systems, ductwork and fans, including plastic and metal components.
- Support maintenance, repairs and basic fault finding.
- Help carry out inspections and identify issues with existing equipment.
- Use hand tools and equipment safely.
- Assist with preventative maintenance on plant and machinery.
- Work alongside experienced engineers on site.
- Follow health and safety procedures and maintain a tidy working environment.
What We're Looking For
- An interest in mechanical engineering and a willingness to learn.
- Some experience using hand tools, whether through work, college or personal projects.
- A mechanical or engineering qualification would be beneficial but isn't essential.
- A practical, hands-on approach to work.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
- Reliability, punctuality and a positive attitude.
