We are delighted to be supporting a well-known name in South Yorkshire manufacturing with the recruitment of a Senior member of their Engineering team.
The role includes:
- Managing, training and developing the Engineering Technicians
- Ensuring all Health & Safety requirements are met within the Engineering Department
- Managing training of your team using a skills matrix and planning training to improve skill levels as needed
- Leading the team by example, spending time with them on the job to pass on your knowledge
- Ensuring all works are to a good standard and your teams leave work areas in a presentable condition, and hand back forms are completed as required
- Generating and delivering toolbox talks as required
- Planning work for your team utilising CMMS system and ensuring your team complete reports as required
- Managing breakdowns to ensure a satisfactory solution is found in a timely manner and external department heads are kept up to date
- Managing financial and labour budgets and completing the necessary budget spreadsheets
- Providing technical backup for day and shift engineers
- Providing out of hours telephone support
- Attending call outs when necessary
- Generating / Revising PPMs to better maintain equipment
- Assisting with Projects and generation of CEA/RFAs as required
- Standing in for engineering managers and Head of Engineering as required
- Managing contractors, ensuring their RAMS are correct before attending site, and work is completed to a good standard
- Issuing Permits where necessary and performing risk assessments as required to ensure work gets completed safely
- Cooperating with compliance related contractors and ensuring actions are completed promptly and to a good standard
You will need an FMCG maintenance background - essential.
Qualifications/Training:
- Electrical Engineering qualification – apprentice trained
- PC Literate - Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
- Maths, English and Science qualifications
