Salary: GBP50000 - GBP75000 per annum
Location: Hull (Office-based, full-time)
Contract: Initial 3‑month contract with a strong likelihood of extension
Salary: Up to £75,000 per annum (pro rata), dependent on experience
Shillito Group is proud to be partnering with a well‑established civil engineering business in Hull to recruit an experienced Finance Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident finance professional who can step into a busy environment, quickly assess priorities, and make an immediate impact.
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Finance Manager will lead a team of three while taking ownership of the monthly finance function, cash flow management, and departmental improvements. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys streamlining processes, developing teams, and bringing structure to a finance department undergoing positive change.
Finance Manager Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a finance team of three, providing day‑to‑day support, coaching and development.
- Oversee the monthly management accounts process, ensuring accurate and timely financial
- Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital to support business operations.
- Provide financial analysis and insight to support strategic decision‑making.
- Identify and implement process improvements across the finance function, helping to improve efficiency and
- Support the CFO with financial reporting and business performance.
- Drive improvements across the department, ensuring robust financial processes and best practice.
- Contribute to ongoing CRM project work (experience in systems implementation or improvement would be advantageous).
The right Finance Manager will be/have:
- ACCA or CIMA
- Proven experience in a Finance Manager or similar senior finance
- Able to hit the ground running with minimal
- Strong leadership experience with a track record of managing, mentoring and developing finance teams.
- Experienced in monthly reporting, cash flow management and financial
- Confident identifying inefficiencies and implementing improvements within a finance
- Previous experience working within engineering, construction or a project‑based environment would be
- CRM or finance systems project experience is
