Key Responsibilities
- Machining large, complex cast components to detailed engineering drawings and specified tolerances.
- Ensuring production targets and timeframes are met.
- Working a mixture of day and nights.
- Conducting visual inspections to ensure quality and accuracy of machined parts.
- Setting and operating a range of manual machines including lathes and vertical borers.
- Marking and identifying materials correctly during the machining process.
- Working collaboratively as part of a team while maintaining the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Following all company health & safety procedures and maintaining a safe working environment.
Skills & Experience Required
- Experience within similar role, or within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Strong ability to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings.
- Competent in working to tight tolerances and using precision measuring equipment.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines.
- Comfortable working independently or as part of a wider team.
- Flexibility with working hours, including overtime and shift patterns.
- Good understanding of health & safety, environmental standards and quality systems.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
