A skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to oversee the maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement of our facilities and equipment. The ideal candidate will ensure the safe and efficient operation of machinery, minimise downtime, and uphold high operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for equipment and facilities.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and provide timely repairs.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and equipment; manage procurement as needed.
- Monitor and improve equipment performance using KPIs such as MTTR (Mean time to repair) and MTBF (Mean time between failures).
- Collaborate with production, safety, and engineering teams to support operational goals.
- Manage maintenance budgets and prepare reports for management review.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment uptime and reduce costs.
- Oversee facilities maintenance including HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and utilities (as applicable).
- Responsible for the recording of all work undertaken including analysis of trends and key parts stock.
- To carry out or organise general repairs/oversee routine property plant maintenance.
- Facilitate/support Lean Manufacturing and operational.
- Recognised engineering apprenticeship and ONC/HNC (or equivalent) in electrical/mechanical engineering.
- Demonstrable proven experience in a manufacturing environment in both mechanical and electrical maintenance.
- 18th edition wiring regulations.
- Experience doing both total preventative and reactive maintenance.
- Competence to review existing SOPs and develop new ones.
- Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
- Demonstrable successful implementation of TPM.
- Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Lean or 6 sigma qualification (desirable).
