An exciting opportunity for an Apprentice CatC1 Driver, aged 25+ due to insurance limitations, to join our team and develop a long‑term career within our business. The successful candidate will work towards becoming a fully trained and competent driver/Hiab crane operator.
We hold ourselves up to the highest of standards and have been part of this sector of the elevator industry since 2000. We have an immense amount of knowledge from over 50 years of experience within the industry, and continue to expand our practices each and every day.
The successful candidate will work towards becoming a fully trained and competent driver/operator, supporting different areas of our operation including warehouse work, van deliveries, and eventually LGV/Hiab crane lorry deliveries. This is a varied role suited to someone who is reliable, practical, safety‑conscious and keen to learn all aspects of specialist logistics within the lift and elevator sector.
The role will be based at our Dartford depot and will involve working in the warehouse, assisting with goods in and goods out, carrying out daily multi‑drop van deliveries into London, and progressing towards operating one of our 18‑ton Hiab crane lorries to deliver elevator equipment across London and the surrounding areas. The Apprentice CatC1 Driver will support the day‑to‑day operations of Adept Elevator Storage Distribution while completing structured apprenticeship training.
The role is designed to give the apprentice practical experience across warehouse operations, van delivery work and specialist LGV/Hiab crane delivery services. The apprentice will learn how to safely handle, store, load, transport and deliver lift and elevator equipment, working in line with company procedures, customer requirements, road transport regulations and health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the safe receiving, checking, storage and dispatch of goods
- Help load and unload vehicles safely and efficiently
- Support the movement of palletised and loose goods around the warehouse
- Learn how to use warehouse equipment, including forklift truck operation once trained and authorised
- Pick, prepare and organise goods for onward delivery
- Keep warehouse areas clean, tidy and safe
- Follow all manual handling, lifting and health and safety procedures
- Report damaged goods, shortages, hazards or operational issues to a supervisor
- Carry out daily multi‑drop deliveries into London and surrounding areas using company vans
