We\’re hiring to expand our engineering delivery team as we take on exciting new automation projects across the UK & Overseas. You\’ll work on cutting-edge systems from build to site install and enjoy competitive basic pay of up to £40,000 + generous overtime, career progression, and exposure to robotics, PLCs, and high-end automation technology.

The Role
As an Industrial Automation Electrician, you\’ll work within our electrical and automation team, building and commissioning bespoke machinery both in-house and on customer sites. You\’ll collaborate closely with our mechanical and software engineers, helping bring each project from concept through to installation and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret electrical and automation schematics and wiring diagrams
- Install, wire, test and commission automation systems, including robots, drives, sensors, motors, and control panels
- Support fault finding, calibration, and system diagnostics on complex electrical systems
- Communicate effectively with the Project Manager and the wider team
- Assist during site installations and commissioning phases, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards
- Produce clear and accurate documentation such as wiring schedules, test reports, and installation records
- Work collaboratively across engineering teams to deliver high-performance solutions on time and to specification
Location, Hours & Working Arrangements
- Location: Based at our main site with travel to customer locations across the UK + internationally
- Hours: 38 hours per week (Core hours: Monday–Thursday 8am–3pm, Friday 8am–1pm) + generous overtime paid at 1.3x
- Contract type: Full-time, permanent
- Working setup: Primarily workshop-based with regular travel for installations and site commissioning
Essential Criteria
- Recognised electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent)
- Proven experience in the build/assembly, installation and/or maintenance of robotic, automation or conveyor systems
- Competent in testing, fault finding and commissioning of electrical systems
- Understanding of both single and three-phase systems
- Willingness to travel to customer sites, including overnight stays when required
- Experience with robotics, vision systems, or servo-driven machinery is desirable
- Strong communication skills and the ability to troubleshoot across departments
