We are working with a fantastic manufacturing business in Winsford that is looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join their finance team. This is a great opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Summary and purpose of position:
To provide full operational support to the Head of Finance and the Finance Department by carrying out duties as required ensuring achievement of the Department/Company functions, objectives and deadlines. Also acting as deputy in the absence of the Head of Finance, supporting the senior management team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation of the Monthly Management Accounts.
- Manage the credit control function - responsible for the reconciliation of Customer accounts, chasing and allocation of cash payments, resolving issues with overdue invoices and liaising with the Quality/Sales/Logistics Departments to resolve debit note queries.
- Prepare and process monthly journals including for stock, depreciation, loan interest, prepayments, accruals, maintenance spares and tooling.
- Control the general ledger, through housekeeping and month end reconciliations.
- Assist with developing cost centre reporting in partnership with operational departments.
- Assist with the preparation of cash flow forecasts.
- Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Assist with updating and developing the product costing system.
- Assist with the year end close and provision of information to external auditors.
- Assist in new projects and system implementations.
Person Specification - Competencies, skill and experience:
- AAT level 4 or above required, ideally working towards a professional qualification (CIMA/ACCA).
- Excellent organisational skills & attention to detail.
- Computer literate - must have advanced Excel skills.
- Quality driven / orientated.
- Able to work on own initiative & as part of a team.
