We are recruiting for an Assistant Management Accountant to join a highly reputable business in Chorley on a 9-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate looking to develop their management accounts experience within a busy and supportive finance team.
The successful candidate will support the month-end process, assist with financial reporting, maintain balance sheet reconciliations, and provide analytical insight to the wider business.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts
- Prepare journals including accruals, prepayments, and adjustments
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations to a high standard
- Support cash flow reporting and forecasting
- Assist with variance analysis and cost reporting
- Maintain financial records and support audit requirements
- Process and reconcile intercompany transactions
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Liaise with internal departments to resolve finance queries
- Provide general finance support and ad-hoc reporting as required
- Previous experience in an Assistant Management Accountant or Assistant Accountant role
- Strong understanding of accruals, prepayments, journals, and reconciliations
- Confident user of Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables as a minimum)
- High attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy
- Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced finance environment
- Strong communication skills and willingness to support the wider team
- Ideally AAT Level 3 qualified or currently studying / working towards AAT Level 3 (or equivalent)
- Candidates studying Level 4 or pursuing further qualifications will also be considered.
