We are recruiting for an experienced Procurement Manager on behalf of a specialist manufacturing business based in Stoke-on-Trent. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded supply chain professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and wants a broad role with genuine responsibility across purchasing, supplier management, inventory control and operational support.
The successful candidate will take ownership of purchasing activities across raw materials, packaging, consumables and services, ensuring stock availability aligns with production and customer demand while maintaining cost efficiency throughout the supply chain.
Key Duties:- Manage purchasing activities across raw materials, packaging and consumables
- Build and manage supplier relationships, negotiations and performance reviews
- Monitor inventory levels and stock valuation reporting
- Liaise with production and commercial teams regarding demand forecasting
- Coordinate imported goods and associated documentation
- Manage consignment stock held at customer/distributor locations
- Carry out supplier visits and audits
- Support reporting and operational analysis using Excel and ERP systems
- Ensure stock storage complies with relevant regulations including COMAH requirements
- Experience within a manufacturing or distribution environment
- Strong purchasing, procurement or supply chain background
- Inventory and stock control experience
- Confident negotiating with suppliers
- Strong Excel and systems skills
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems
- Chemical, industrial or technical manufacturing sector experience
- COMAH or hazardous goods knowledge
- Import/export experience
- Supply chain qualification
- £40,000 - £50,000 DOE
- 26 days holiday + bank holidays

- Working hours: 8:30am - 5:00pm
