An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll Manager to join a large and complex organisation operating within a fast-paced shared services environment. Leading an established payroll team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and compliant delivery of payroll services across multiple legal entities and business divisions. This is a highly visible leadership role, offering the opportunity to influence payroll strategy, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and support the ongoing development of the payroll function. Working closely with senior stakeholders across HR, Finance and Operations, you will play a key role in maintaining payroll excellence whilst supporting business growth and change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop and motivate a payroll team within a shared services environment
  • Ensure the accurate and timely delivery of multiple payrolls
  • Maintain compliance with payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
  • Manage payroll projects, process improvements and system enhancements
  • Oversee payroll reconciliations, audits and year-end processes
  • Support team development through coaching and mentoring
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Drive efficiencies and continuous improvement across payroll operations

About You

  • Proven Payroll Manager experience within a large, high-volume environment
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance
  • Experience managing multi-entity payrolls

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities
