This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has strong all-round finance experience and is ready to step into a key role, supporting the finance function by bridging the gap between junior team members and senior management.
Our client is a well-established, reputable business with a collaborative team culture and a growing order book. They are looking for someone hands-on, adaptable, and detail-focused, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities of the role:
- Supporting and guiding junior finance staff with day-to-day queries and training
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Processing and reconciling purchase ledger transactions
- Managing credit control and debtor communications
- Performing bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
- Processing staff expenses in line with company policies
- Handling CIS returns and payments in line with HMRC requirements
- Supporting with internal reporting and ad hoc finance tasks
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement and supporting system enhancements
Specifications of the right candidate:
- AAT qualified (Level 3 or above) - essential
- Strong, broad finance experience across both transactional and reporting areas
- Knowledge of CIS and construction-related finance processes - highly desirable
- Experience using Sage and ideally Eque2 Construct - advantageous
- Comfortable supervising or mentoring junior team members
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
- Confident communicator with a proactive and solutions-focused approach
