Group HR Manager - Multi-Site
£45,000-£50,000 per annum | Chester area | Full-time, office-based
Monday to Friday: 8am-4.30pm or 8.30am-5pm
Are you an experienced HR Manager with strong employee relations expertise and a background in multi-site HR?
Our client, an established multi-site business, is seeking a Group HR Manager to lead its day-to-day people operations. Supporting approximately 400 employees across five sites, you'll combine hands-on HR delivery with practical advice to managers.
This role would particularly suit an HR professional who has supported customer service teams in sectors such as retail or hospitality.
The Role:
You'll manage the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to development and offboarding. This senior generalist role offers broad responsibility and the opportunity to improve consistency across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability and wellbeing matters.
- Conduct investigations and formal hearings, providing clear guidance to managers.
- Coach managers on performance management, absence and day-to-day employee issues.
- Oversee recruitment, induction, engagement, learning and development, and reward.
- Maintain employment contracts, HR policies, employee records and right-to-work checks.
- Update the staff handbook in line with employment legislation and uphold data protection requirements.
- Support and develop a part-time HR Officer.
- Liaise with Payroll to ensure accurate, timely employee information.
About You:
- An experienced HR generalist with a proven track record in a hands-on, multi-site position.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and confidence handling complex employee relations.
- A relevant HR qualification, ideally CIPD Level 5 or 7.
- Understanding of casual and seasonal workforce requirements.
- Commercial awareness, sound judgement and confidence advising senior managers.
- An approachable manner and the ability to remain professional under pressure.
- Experience supporting a customer-facing workforce would be advantageous.
- Ability to drive and undertake occasional travel between sites.
