Job Title: Assistant Management Accountant
Reporting to: Finance Manager
Location: Bangor
Salary: Circa £40,000 - £42,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Thursday 8.00am - 5.00pm, Friday 8.00am - 3.30pm
Hybrid Working: Available following successful completion of a 6-month probation period
About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance team. This role will support the preparation of management accounts, budgeting, variance analysis, ledger management, and VAT returns. The successful candidate will work closely with senior finance staff and provide key support across a range of financial tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including prepayment and accrual journals, income deferrals, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, and board report data.
- Complete and submit VAT returns in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate financial records in line with company policies.
- Assist senior finance staff in establishing and monitoring accounting controls.
- Accurately record and analyse income and expenditure.
- Provide financial analysis to support efficient resource allocation.
- Support with annual budgets
- Undertake ad-hoc assignments as directed by the Finance Manager or other senior leadership.
- Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts for external accountants.
- Support the annual audit process, liaising with auditors as required.
About You:
- Part-qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
- Proven experience in preparing management accounts
- Experience in the property industry - desirable.
- Experience with multi-company accounting and inter-company reconciliations.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; knowledge of Sage Line 50
- Confident problem-solver with sound judgement.
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Maintains discretion and confidentiality at all times.
