We're recruiting a Client Manager to join a growing firm of chartered accountants in Newcastle-under-Lyme. You'll take responsibility for an existing client portfolio, work closely with directors and colleagues, and deliver a proactive service across accounts, tax and wider practice work.

A portfolio you can take ownership of

Your clients will include sole traders, partnerships and limited companies across a range of industries. You'll coordinate their accounts and tax work, maintain regular contact and identify where further support would benefit their businesses.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing your own client portfolio and coordinating the delivery of services

• Preparing year-end accounts and reviewing accounts files prepared by trainees

• Giving constructive feedback and mentoring junior colleagues

• Preparing personal tax returns and corporation tax computations, with some basic tax planning

• Working with directors and the wider team on client queries and projects

• Managing deadlines and coordinating resources with fellow managers

• Building lasting client relationships and identifying opportunities to provide additional services

What you'll bring

You'll be ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience, with experience in a similar role within accountancy practice.

You'll have a strong grounding in accounts preparation, tax and general practice services, alongside the commercial awareness and organisational skills to manage a portfolio effectively.
