Our client, a well-established organisation in Liverpool, is recruiting an HR Advisor / ER Specialist to provide employee relations advice and support across the business.
This opportunity would suit an experienced HR Advisor or Employee Relations Advisor who enjoys managing cases, coaching managers and finding practical solutions to workplace issues.
The Role
As part of a collaborative People function, you'll support a varied employee relations caseload and help managers navigate sensitive situations.
You'll combine a sound understanding of HR procedures with an approachable communication style, ensuring matters are handled fairly and consistently.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advice on disciplinary, grievance, performance and absence management cases.
- Support cases from initial assessment through to resolution, tracking progress and maintaining clear records.
- Guide managers through investigations, formal meetings and appeals.
- Prepare and review case documentation, correspondence and outcome letters.
- Advise on the application of HR policies and employment legislation.
- Coordinate occupational health referrals and support return-to-work arrangements.
- Encourage early intervention and informal resolution where appropriate.
- Coach managers on effective conversations and employee relations procedures.
- Review case trends and suggest improvements to reduce recurring issues.
- Support policy updates and wider People team projects.
About You
- Proven experience in an HR advisory or employee relations role.
- Experience managing or supporting a varied ER caseload.
- Good knowledge of UK employment law and its practical application.
- The confidence to advise managers and constructively challenge where needed.
- Strong written communication and accurate documentation skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and sensitive information.
- A balanced, practical and people-focused approach.
